in yesterday's issue of the standard Moreno Ocampo was alleged to have a sex scandal involving a south african female journalist. this happened in October 2006,where the prosecutor had a media interview, and then decided to take advantage of the situation after the interview. the victim raised the issue with the icc public communications officer, one palmes, who forwarded the allegations to icc board. the victim was summoned before the board at the hague to give testimonies but changed her story. the case was dismissed. ocampo summarily dismissed palme on the spot. palme took the issues with international labour orgarnisation, who helped push the case and awarded several hundred millions us dollars for compensation.

I think Palme acted irrationally. - That the ILO awarded her damages was only because her dismisal did not follow the rebutal procedures which are very strict and straighforward in the entire UN system regardless of how senior or junior the grieving employee is.

The 2005 case by the South African journalist was very weak and in my view a plan to bring down Ocampo.

She argued that Ocampo had taken her car keys and that she had to go to the hotel, sleep with him first before Ocampo could give back the keys.

Picture this and see the big lie.

Why didn't she report the incident to the police or take a cab home.

The case was so weak with no slight evidence and was thrown out at first hearing.

Besides ICC is an institution, unlike PEV & crimes against humanity which can only be associated with individuals with a face. So even if your edge out Ocampo,ICC remains at the same spot.

By the way, this story is doing rounds on Sudanese websites but will not stop the Hague train from pulling up in Kenya. Sorry!

Wow,aren't our politicians running scared! They're too transparent but this won't work. The Hague is knocking on their doors and there's nothing they can do about it

'to take advantage of the situation after the interview.'

The interpretation of this statement is VERY key.

They main purpose of their meeting was the interview and therefore official jurisdiction ended at 'I am .....,for SABC,Jo'Burg,RSA.'

She could have decided to show Ocampo, the true SA cat and this can only be attributed to the guys abilities after hours.

If they went to a bar,the little jogoo tends to stand anyway 'on sight...of certain...which some SA chicks are well endowed with. OK OK even Kenyan Chicks'. The guy could have tapped it consentiously, mutually, etc.

I consider sexual life personal and should not affect how a person implements the law.

A likely impossibility is always preferable to an unconvincing posibility.
African parents don't know how to say sorry.. the closest you will get to a sorry is a 'have you eaten'

What a stupid topic. In Kenya, most MPigs are regulars on K-Street (or call-in services after the K-Street bust by journalists) and some had to 'deny' their 2nd families in public. Wacha Ocampo gets these fools. They will be like bashir. Cant go anywhere else except see their fellow african despots.
