what construction equipment do you need to build godowns

Does anyone with construction knowledge know what kind of equipment and quantity you would need for construction of godowns such as concrete mixer, vibrator, wheel barrows etc.
For scaffolding will use wood.
I currently am using a foreman to do the building of 12 godowns and will supply the material and will buy the equipment and sell after use, is this a good idea or is there a cheaper alternative as godowns are not very complicated to build.

The equipment you need will depend on the materials to be used in construction, the design and your cost ceiling.

For godowns built mainly with steel/metal fabrications, transportation (Lorries) & skilled labor costs are the main factors to look out for.

For godowns made of reinforced concrete, you will need more heavy machinery. As stated, wheel barrow, vibrators will be required, Portable compressor, Dumper truck (750 kg), Lorry, five or two tonne tipper, concrete mixer (14/10) complete for weight batch mixing, Drum floor sander, Centrifugal pump complete with hose and ancillary equipment, Bucket hoist (depends on design height/specs), Shovels and a Power Generator among others.

Assuming your godown is a traditional design, all these may come in handy. You can consult us to assist you in estimates.

Concerning the question on whether to buy or hire, This choice depends on the number/size of godowns. If construction is set to take 1 year or less, hiring equipment is advisable.

If you choose to buy and resell you will have to discount for depreciation.

Alternatively, you can start hiring out your equipment after completion.

An equipment schedule can well be derived from your bill of quantities or better yet from your work breakdown schedule.
As for whether to buy or hire the equipment, that will depend on the duration of the project, as stroika adviced if its less than a year then hiring is your cheaper option.
Remember that if you hire, you only pay for what you use yet if you buy, you lose in terms of idle machine hours and depreciation.
