A lesson for us all, if our ultimate goal remains success and triumph, we may not realise when we cross the line...
Quote:
But he still said his comeback in 2009 might have doomed him because it gave anti-doping officials a chance to build the case against him. "We wouldn't be sitting here if I didn't come back," he said.

Quote:
"Yeah, I was a bully," Armstrong said. He called his behavior "inexcusable" and described himself as "a guy who expected to get whatever he wanted and to control every outcome."

Quote:
"I'd do anything to go back to that day," Armstrong said of the day USADA gave him the opportunity to come clean. "Because I wouldn't fight, I wouldn't sue them."

Quote:
But throughout Winfrey’s interview, Armstrong failed to do the one thing many people had been waiting for: he failed to apologize directly to all the people who believed in him, all the cancer survivors and cycling fans who thought his fairy-tale story was true.

Not once did he look into the camera and say, without qualification, “I’m sorry.”

Armstrong said he failed to tell the truth because he got swept up in the "momentum" of his own legend. He was the cancer survivor turned superhero, the squeaky clean rider waving the American flag in victory.

"It just gets going and I lost myself in all that," Armstrong said.

President Bill Clinton holds up a yellow US Postal Service jersey given to him by Lance Armstrong in the Rose Garden of the White House in 1999.

The Sunday Times is suing Armstrong for £1m over a libel payment to him in 2004 after the newspaper alleged he had cheated.
"He should pay that now, no questions," Walsh says.
"The Sunday Times were
the ones asking the right
questions, but UK libel
laws said we can't ask
questions of a great man
and had to prove he was a doper."
Walsh adds: "We were told we had to wait for a
positive test - but what if
he hid it? Armstrong sued in London because he knew he would win. He won because he instructed his lawyers to say he would never dope."

I'm sure Oprah's network paid him a good retirement fortune for this. I think he'll cover the suits that will come from now on as I'm sure he'll be spending the rest of his life in courts.

BBI will solve it

I wonder if he will be told to return all the prize money he got, as Marion Jones did

Interesting viewpoint this!
"Not a cycling fan but
surely the money he has
raised for cancer, no
matter how it was
obtained, is his greatest
success?"

What about Oprah's OWN? She must have milked millions from this interview.
