@Impunity
It is too early to celebrate your bailing out - most of them are likely to report losses going by their strong opposition to the reporting rules and deadline of 31st Aug.

from where i sit,all the brokerage firms,investment banks and a handful of funds managers have made losses for their six months reporting. the bigger the firm the higher the losses. this doesnt look glimmer for their fy reporting.

btw,what would be the scenario were all these firms to go under.

Someone should explain why the balance sheet has not balanced as at 30th June 2009.

Total Equity & Liabilities = Kes 558,560,491

Total Assets = Kes 555,623,356.

The financial statements do not give a true and fairview of the state of affairs as at 30th June 2009.The balance sheet does not balance,something is not right somewhere,i hope the auditors will pick it.

Everything happens for a reason.

Suntra was one of the largest brokers around thetime of KENGEN IPO but somewhere after that they lost the plot as they didnt knowhow to take care of the large crowd. I ran and so did many investors,in search of more efficient brokers. And i believe that's where the rain started beating them.

Most Kenyan businesses have poor customer service and SUNTRA is real Kenyan!

All investment banks made losses the most worrying thing is the amount of loss incurred by these firms.for instance 47m is huge considering the capitalisation of the firm also note the amount earned from commissions the main of income a mere 12m for the period is worrying the sama as Genghis capital the new entrant which also made a loss of 5.5m...from here i dont know where we are heading.
