Moss, you must be one hard guy. FYI, members routinely kill each other over the control of Mbo-I-Kamiti.

I am just coming from from Mboi Kamiti Head offices and am sure everything now is moving well to a succesful conclusion.

MOSS, I dont know what motivates you, but Mboi Kamîtî? Wont touch it with a km long stick. I live somewhere near the contested Twiga... rumour has it that the farm has been sold to a "powerful" Kenyan. Evictions have be successfully concluded though
How many shareholders does Mboi Kamîtî have?

With that kind of membership, they need like 4000 acres for each member to get a reasonable portion. Twiga farm is not even a quarter of that.

Boss, in Kiora Estate, all members got an eigth in June 2010 but fights erupted between workers and members over unpaid salaries for 20yrs. This has now been cleared. (BTW, Kiora farm is behind Kiambu Town next to Migaa Luxury and Golf blah blah blah)

In 2004, all members had recieved 40x80 in Twiga, only for squatters to drive them out after 9 months.

Assuming 15000 members, each getting 40x80 the land needs to be 1200 acres.

May be we are getting membership numbers wrong

That twiga farm 1,100 Acres brother/sister.
Members number has increased from about 6K in the 90s to the current huge figure due to inheritance of shares, like me, i inherited 4 shares and my mother remained with 2 in 2002.

The probkem with membership and shares is that, plots are distributed in terms members NOT shares numbers. So, if you have 10 shares and i 2, plot is the same, what you need to do is distribute your 10 into 5 groups of 2 each.

Thanks for the info, now it makes sense. I've been an enthusiast of Mboi-Kamiti over the years. The success story of the company would make a good thesis.
BTW--- The dam(s) next to Twiga... are they also owned by Mboi-Kamiti?
How can one get a "beach" plot?

The squatters who were kicked out of Twiga farm went to court and were awarded a stay of execution until the suit is heard and determined. So hope for the best till the case is cleared
