H/she is blaming the highly educated and MBA holders electorate; and I ask him/her how can these group of electorate bring the change he/she wants?

Am saying that there are more competent people to run Nairobi except those clowns Waititu, Sonko & co. We have competent people like Jimnah Mbaru, Kidero, Gakuo etc that the electorate should consider. But the problem with democracy is that it is a popularity contest and competency is given a back seat. Sad that even some of the highly educated and knowledgeable wazua middo crass seem to support sonko and co.

Simply because history tells us that Leadership is not found in books and MBAs.
We had people like Anyang' Nyong'o, Kivutha Kibwana, Sam Ongeri,Oburu Oginga and several MBA holders who have done dismally compared to Sonkos!
Live with it.

@jaggernaut, the middle and educated class dont care and are too busy. Even if they had enough numbers, they wouldnt participate in important events. For instance, how many here will vote in the nominations?

Sonko and Waititu are bright. If you want votes then target the watus, forget the rich and middle class (us), their votes are very insignificant.

And that's the biggest problem. Because it means that the fate of all the property owners/business owners/multinationals in nairobi, from Runda to karen to Kileleshwa to south B to Umoja is in the hands of the 70% of Nairobians who belong to the lower classes and may be living in informal settlements, people who share little (ideals/aspirations/expectations) with the other 30%, who include the real owners/movers/shakers of nairobi.

I actually don't think it's a problem. We brought this on ourselves. Why should one man be living in an 18 room mansion in Runda while an extended family of 12 lives in a one room mad house in Kibera? In any society, you fight for the poor and not the rich because you are as weak as your weakest link. In Kenya we failed to do that and it's payback time. The inequality gap is just too big but now the majority have a voice. Democracy is a b****, ain't it.

one day the sky will fall on our heads and when it does the have nots will devour the haves and external 'dark forces' will use this to have their way in kenya and kenya will be no more, lets strive to empower the have nots to have because they will break or make kenya

You mean like they seek vacancies at Nairobi county departments but leave the overall top job, governor, for waititu?

Exactly. That is where they will be able to showcase their management skills e.g Kidero can be incharge of city medical facilities,Mbaru incharge of transport,Mokua incharge of markets,Gakuo incharge of administration etc.Btw,Gakuo achieved much as an employee with the mayor and kanjoras. He should continue with his roles and I doubt the mayor was a graduate.

I registered in Nairobi. Sonko pap. Gakuo pap! I would be glad if YT2 becomes Gakuo's deputy. The governer will have an able mobilizer n a deputy with ears on the ground. Mbaru is too elitist for me, a boardroom guy. Another good team would be Kidero Governer n wanjiru deputy, but gakuo's team would be most suitable.... .

And that's the biggest problem because the rich and middle class, who have a very huge stake in the city are outnumbered. And it means that the fate of all the property owners/business owners/multinationals in nairobi, from Runda to karen to Kileleshwa to south B to Umoja is in the hands of the 70% of Nairobians who belong to the lower classes and may be living in informal settlements, people who share little (ideals/aspirations/expectations) with the other 30%, who include the real owners/movers/shakers of nairobi.

And they've got nothing to lose by voting in your so called 'semi-literate' jokers.

The problem is not democracy but the electorate. In some developed and civilized societies, democracy works very well and good leaders are elected. Our electorate need to get well educated both academically, socially & get civilized to look over and above tribe and popularity. Until we do this we will keep voting same old tired non performing tribal chiefs.

I would live with either Mbaru, Gakuo or Kidero. All others is a no for me.
