My rocal pump station where I fuel 80% of the time uses manual/analog pumps and I bet this @guka skill may not work coz there is nothing digital to play with, its only gears and cams-rollers. I stand collected though. Probably very true ....the Shell on Mbagathi way near the memorial hospital ...they have the mechanical pumps and it seems to give a little more mafuta than these other petrol stations with digital meters.

Total petrol station on Lusaka road near the round about to South B (above Industrial Area Police station on the way to Uhuru highway). Last Thursday, I fueled my 1600 GLi car with ksh 1,000 in the morning when going to work and that fuel did not last meet my errands as compared to other times. As a norm, every time I fuel, I reset my mileage to start at zero and to this one, I did 67km until I was very sure the tank was very empty coz I drove long distance with red light and the gauge was way below the E sign.

On the contrary young man,it is far much easier to manipulate the digital metering pumps.Of course you wouldn't know since you have never seen the inside of a mechanical pump ....No need to be collected.Ignorance is bliss Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.

Now I understand why there was hate at first sight between you and @ Tony Stark. it is mostly the independent stations not me.try going there with a jug measuring exactly 1 litre and see if they will sell you fuel in that jug.

Is this common in some 'brand' of stations-probably due to lax controls, or is it random?

Guy heaping madaharau to people yet he has a brain the size of a pea. If I didn't know the inside of a pump I would not have even mentioned the worn cam! Do you even know cam? Probably you think of it in terms of chots you usually get at Sabina-Joy. NKT!!! Portfolio: Sold You know you've made it when you get a parking space for your yatcht.

In some cases the figures on the display board do not tally with the settings on the pump

Beware when you check into a petrol station and the guys jump at you asking in haste mbele iko poa? fungua tuangalie and cleaning the windscreen while u have said weka 1000/= If u don't pay attention to the guy dispensing the fuel, you may get conned nicely. I had a cousin petrol attendant who told me how they do it. But the worst fuel theft happens to company fueled vehicles using vouchers, cards and the like.

Company drivers collude with the attendants; they will be told "fuel for me Ksh 4000 but key in 6,500. Chukua mia tano na unipe 2K". The next car to fuel at 2500 completes the transaction (2K paid to driver gets refunded and 500/= for the tip available to attendant) "Never regret, if its good, its wonderful. If its bad, its experience."
