Cordmorning @ reggaeman. We may not like facts but they stil remain so. In 2002, Uhuru team used RAOphobia in their campaigns. They claimed that Kibaki had an agrmt with RAO to rule for 2 yrs only then leave the presidency to him. After becoming PM, RAO made a trip to central. Rumours were rife that he was planning to avenge 69 Kisumu incident by provoking the crowds. But I think the phobia is reducing.

If it were not for the 1982 communist revolutionary coup (reforms), maybe Kenya would be at par with Malaysia. The phobia is real and necessary!

If you are a good student of history, you will be surprised who were happier about the coup then.. and getting rid of Moi was celebrated sana...

..as for Moi's appointment.. it was not about sucession but the Kanu Kadu 'merger' taming Ngala... and the gem.... allowing displaced Africans from reserves to new settlements... the diaspora kyuks as referef to..
it was a way of pacifying the locals...

which leads me to ask. How old are you? Did you read more history than what was in your 'pass exams' text books.. Did you take history in highschool.?

As for who was happier, i was not aware steadman was there to carry out an opinion poll. As for your Moi appointment, then what of his appointing J. Odinga VP and never a kiuk successor? He sacked him for his communist leanings and Moi ended up as VP later purely on merit and ideoloy. Yes i study history , do you?

Goodness.. Im wasting brain cells on this one....

The little history you perceive to know has you thoroughly haughty.

Somebody please take up on this.. History 101?

@Ngalaka you have pointed out a reality that the majority of Wazuans prefer to sweep under the carpet. The Mountains will not vote for an Angel who does not come from among them. They are quite content to succeed themselves while talking about national unity, constitutional rights Etc.

We thought Moi was a nasty guy, but he did not seek to have a Kaleo succeed him. We would be well on our way towards national healing should Baks declare support to someone other than his 'kamwana' but don't hold your breath. It will never happen.

You clearly don't know who Shetani as referred to by UK is.

Old baks wasn't going to publicly support anyone. But we know who he preferred-WMM.

As it is now, UMK has successfully rebelled against mzee Kibs. Infact, listening to some of those UMK guys is very similar to listening to CORD supporters. They think Kibaki is to blame for their woes and they blame Kibaki for everything that has gone wrong since 2003.

On another note, and this is scary, CORD seems not to be any different from ODM of 2007. At 60 days to the polls they are now seeking to isolate the Kikuyu again this time with 'historical facts'.

I have given up on debating with people who appear keen to skirt around issues in a hear no evil see no evil approach!!

Burying heads in sand wont get the problem off the way.

If a people choose a certain path and refuse to see things any other way, - so be it!

As if they applied to be born Kikuyus and shouted Haki Yetu when their parents attempted to make them other tribes!

ZZ, yu dont get the point, when Kibaki thinks all influential positions should belong to his kinsmen, unilaterally appoints commissioners (2007) others are left with no choice.
