What logic then do I engage in to make a choice between two or three bad choices?
I chose not to participate in the making of a choice at all by not opting to register as a voter in the forthcoming erection.
I want to have the luxury of feeling very sorry for myself when other Kenians celebrate as Kenia becomes an even better place because due to good leaders elected.
Or to watch in pain and horror as Kenia loses its sovereignty yet again while the economy goes to the dogs because of the erection of terrible leaders.
Was that logical?
I think you made a mistake. Democracy is not perfect, anywhere in the world. I tell myself that even when I am choosing the least worst leader out of a bad bunch, I am participating in a process of refinement. Progressively, and hopefully, less worse leaders will iteratively come to the surface until we have a tolerable equilibrium. You should not deny yourself participation in this process of refinement, because then in a small way you can influence its speed and direction.
Look at life in general, many things work in a similar way; small, painful steps....building things brick by brick, correcting and learning from mistakes as you go along. What would happen if you gave up on this tried and tested method in real life?
It is like marrying. If you want a perfect wife, or husband, virgin of body, soul and spirit among other things it will be a loooooong wait, and she/he will never come anyway. You pick what is good or even acceptable and roll with it
