Do you know what those travel advisories issued by the US do to hotel bookings at the coast? They plummet. Because in addition to fear, travel costs for instance travel insurance increases...airlines, ships suspend flights. Europeans and Americans on budget holidays look at alternative and cheaper destinations (rich Euros hang out in Tahiti, French Riviera and St Tropez etc etc) ...when bookings are low, the seasonal hospitality workforce is cut loose, people strain to make ends meet.
And these are just travel advisories. With sanctions, take this effect, multiply it by orders of magnitude and then apply it across a huge swathe of our economy. This is one possible reality that we could be staring at.
Look at your pocket and then please ask yourself rationally if your choice of candidate has the potential outcome of making it suffer. It is only a shortsighted person who cant see that a depressed economy affects EVERYONE, but the worst hit are the poor and middleclass families.

any credible link proving sanctions will be imposed on kenya?

Proving? No. Suspecting strongly of such an outcome?
Below is a link where none other than WSR accuses the US of trying to strongarm things in closed communication channels by way of impending sanctions.

There is ample precedent in the affairs just up here in the Sudan.
So, @mawinder, before getting into the technicalities of how or whether sanctions will come into play, answer this one question for me: Do you believe that sanctions will badly hurt the Kenyan economy?

It is too much to ask some people to see the big picture; They are simply not able to. What to do in that case is break it down into smaller, more digestible and irrefutable pieces of information and basic truth- they then find that there is no shouting against those and mercifully keep silent.

No single country or envoy or UN official or anybody WITH A WORKING BRAIN concerning democracy has opposed Uhuru or Ruto running, this is a creation of i don't know who. Weka LINK! There is absolutely no logic in barring candidates simply because they have an ongoing court case in which they are fully cooperating! It will never happen, wake me up when one single envoy opposes any of the two running for elective post, It is perfectly legal, it is democracy and it will happen that Uhuruto will be in power in three months time! The ICC cases (Please understand it was a referral , ICC had requested Kenya to sort out these cases before) will then be immediately referred back to Kenya, and you know all charges will be dropped. In any case Isreal, Sudan, USA have all ditched ICC because they were to face charges, and blocked/rescinded to ICC, and have henceforth no legal obligations for signing up to ICC, it's NOTHING NEW. Remember Kenyatta came out of jail as a convicted terrorist to rule, Mandela came out of prison as a convicted terrorist to rule. Even Clinton was impeached and continued to rule till a verdict was found. Kapondi the Mt Elgon suspect was allowed to run. The voice of the people is the voice of God. No one punishes good democracy, hio ni uwongo tupu!

I guess the case is going to be argued on 7th Feb before a 5 Judge bench.

We wait to see, though I can guess the kind of anxiety the suspects are going through.

The elections will be between RAO, Mudavadi and PK. Anyone thinking differently had better start repaying their loans.

The suspects have the numbers that is without doubt. So the sanctions propaganda and the land issues have to be turned on to whip up emotions of some people.

Rao's cousin has disappointed for not endorsing anybody in the race to succeed Emilio.
