Since PK has a link to this thread let me ask: is it true that the way out of unemployment is foreign investment?

Tunawesmake kweli na hiyo route? Bado we are playing second fiddle.

For Kenya almost yes. Ask the chinese how they made it. Thereafter comes technological transfers n the like. FDI babaa

Foreign investment is not unnecessary or unneeded, but we should also look at how it is going to work in a country like ours.

For example, it is difficult for us to compare ourselves with China in relation to market size, labor costs, cultural strength, and leadership strategies.

We have not even tackled the issue of resources conclusively. For instance, how can one identify resources without firstly, having a well defined objective, and secondly, a will to beat all odds using knowledge, imagination, and creativity?

By PK seeking foreign investment as a solution to unemployment, he is not only exhibiting diffidence in himself, but he is also showing lack of confidence in the citizens he is aspiring to lead.

And the results will always be devastating.

Is FDI the only thing he has offered? I have heard him talk of trippling our tourism, irrigation agriculture, manufacturing, massive infrastructure, fiscal discipline.......all on his website. Why are you obsessed with the FDI part? Now, lets hear what Uhuruto offering anyway?

Ati sasa we are mad n brainless for supporting PK? These uhuru fans n arrogance.....actually that was a comment from a very educated man!. .....

@ Simonkabz......You do realise that the elections will not just be about PK Vs Uhuruto. What are his chances against OAR?

@Simon, I don't think I am obsessed, I saw the Man yesterday and he seemed to be the one obsessed with the idea of foreign investment, he didn't mention these other things like 'tourism'.

And perhaps the reason why is because these sectors have been there all along and that there maybe a dearth of new ideas regarding them.

Oar has also talked about these sectors in an equally unconvincing manner. So if PK has some fresh ideas why isn't he mentioning them in his speeches? I don't think a website is more convincing than a verbal presentation that is always pressed for time!

I think they would be higher, going by the fact that dude is generally accepted accross the nation, unlike UK who easily compares with RAO in devided opinion, my thoughts. . Your opinion bw Taz?

I have not listened to him once, but many times. Every developing nation desperately needs FDI. It is more like the major ingredient in economic take off. Ever heard of China n South Korea? I also don't think UK fans can fairly scrutinize another candidate. Poking holes on PK's vision where as others have given us none is preposterous. PK's vision has been tested everywhere he has worked, so, I beg we give another reason for hating or disliking that young man, but not vision n ability.

Who is PK? What has he done for this country? Will I vote for someone based on his lofty ideas of what he can do for us that others have not done before? Will I vote for him because he is young? Or is it because he happens to be the new kid on the block? I ask again, what has he done for this country? Forget Gatanga. Gatanga constituency is not Kenya. For the time he has been in parliament, what has been his track record in speaking up against impunity and corruption. How much has he spoken up for the rule of law to be upheld. I have not heard him... at least not as clearly as I have heard some of the other presidential aspirants. In my opinion, the crime of omission is as bad as that of commission. Just lying low as bad things happen around you and not coming out strongly against them is as bad as joining the criminals. That for me is a strong indication of a spineless leader who will wax this and that way bouyed on the sands of time!

Shame on you Shame on you Shame on you This is satire at its best!!! You seem not to get it.
Satire is a genre of literature, and sometimes graphic and performing arts, in which vices, follies, abuses, and shortcomings are held up to ridicule, ideally with the intent of shaming individuals, and society itself, into improvement.[1] Although satire is usually meant to be funny, its greater purpose is often constructive social criticism, using wit as a weapon.

"The shared shortcomings of Peter Kenneth and his running mate stem from their similar background of deprivation and being raised on the false ethos of hard work, honesty, integrity and claptrap like that. It has never won elections — or Tuju would be the MP for Rarieda"

Our society is being held up to ridicule in that we reject such people and elect the opposite.

@Theu.

Tell them. That article was actually about shaming the Kenyan Society for thinking The Raila Uhuru coalitions are better leaders than Kenneth and Tuju group.
