this is something which I wouldn't want even my worst enemy to go through

Imagine this 8:00PM you are laughing playing with your kid and at 10:00PM he is dead, cold with absolutely no warning.

this was how I lost baby Immanuel.

well from google I got this.

@Brav pole,
may God grant you peace. This is indeed very painful.
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.... Leo Buscaglia

pole sana.
I have read about cot deaths and stuff and I can't even begin to comprehend the guilt in a parent's mind.
All I can say is take heart.God will compensate you and give you peace and comfort with time.
picture the baby singing/clapping/dancing with the angels above.

@brav please accept my sympathy and consolation for loosing a baby. Myself as a parent, I can imagine how you feel. May God increase patience in this time of your calamity.

I will also add what we are taught to say (Islamic):
"To God belongs what He takes and to Him belongs what He gives. And there is a set time by Him for everything. Do exercise patience and expect reward from God."

After reading your posts on the probable cause of your child's death, I remembered hadith which talks about this exactly!!!

Please, Wazuans allow me to share with you this hadith and its significance.
NOTE: This is not an act of showing off or boasting about something or my religion, but to share and show you how God has taight many things, which is good for our living well on this earth.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said that God hates us to sleep on our stomachs!
This really answers the enlightening @brav has shared with us today.
It satisfying for us as Muslims to know that we are following what Allah's Prophet said in the Hadiths.

In Islam it is forbidden for both men and women
Here is the quote from the Prophet
Yaeesh ibn Tihfah reported that his father said:
"I stayed as a guest with the Messenger of God (pbuh) with those of the poor whom he hosted.
The Prophet came out in the night to check up on his guests, and saw me lying on my stomach.
He prodded me with his foot and said, ‘Do not lie in this manner, for it is a way of lying that God hates.’”

Let us see scientific point of view
We only knew that this religious prohibition that sleeping on the stomach is a bad habit.
But now Science agrees with religion after 1400 years!!!!
Scientists have proven that this positon has effects on our bodies and people should stay away from it.
The scientific report (released by the US government, I think in Nov 2000) says that it is one of the major causes of "cot death" which effects children under the age of three.

Science mentions the issues with sleeping on the stomach
Quote:
- Due to the weight of the spine, the number one recommendation by doctors to prevent and protect the spine and soft organs is not to sleep this way as the heavy spine sags unhindered as it squashes the internal organs “...You may want to avoid sleeping on your stomach, especially on a saggy mattress, since this can cause back strain and can be uncomfortable for your neck…”
- More recently too, there was an epidemic so to say of babies dieing in their cots while at sleep, a kind of sleep monster phenomenon.
After research and doctors collating data from many mothers to figure out what made infants suddenly die in their sleep it was discovered (after many deaths) that sleeping on the stomach was the single great cause of this SIDS(Suddenqq Infant Death Syndrome)
- Mothers every where were advised to not put their infants to sleep on their stomachs any more, and prod them with a pillow.

The medical profession celebrated this discovery. Even though the religions prescribed the prevention of this years ago.

NOTE: CNN said that sleeping on the stomach is the worst position
- Leads to neck and back pain
- increases wrinkles
- damages breasts i.e. you a woman cannot maintain perky breasts

There's a poem I once read.

What are the clouds
but an excuse for the sky?

What is life,
but an escape from death?

You loved your child, you were supposed to protect her, but you couldn't.

Who are you accountable to?

Man? He has forgiven you.

God? He is ever merciful and loving!

But you, can you heal yourself? You must lose yourself; you must surrender.
