Sofapaka striker John Baraza scooped the Fair Play Award fading off competition from Gor Mahia striker Sserunkuma who finished second and Tusker’s Obadiah Ndege (third position). Baraza also won the Golden Boot Award after notching 18 goals while Sserunkuma was second with 17

Relegated side Rangers FC made history by reclaiming the Fair Play team Award after beating Ulinzi Stars and Muhoroni Youth to second and third spot respectively. Rangers had won the award in 2011.

The Assistant referee of the year award was won by Gilbert Cheruiyot, Mike Mwangi was runners-up and Jane Cherono third.

KCB's Josephat Okal won the team manager of the year award while George Maina of Thika United was second and William Muluhya of Mathare United third.

Congratulations are in order for Gor Mahia F.C 'off-the-pitch' trophies.

If history serves me right, there is a club that finished last in the top league 3 times in a row but was never relegated because of similar 'off-the-pitch' points. Re-Union F.C in the late 90s. Eventualy, the authorities realised that 'on-field' points were the progressive way to improve standards.

FKF is killing soccer stds in Kenya by openly favoring Gor thro' their referees and H-Stars selections.

Strange, Team with Coach of the year, Player of the year, Defender of the year, Midfielder of the year; but never won the league.
Doesn't make sense.
What would we say about players of the team that actually won the league?

Another subjective argument!!!

K'Ogalo finished 2nd, won two of three trophies contested!!!.....so whom do suppose should have won!!!!.....Matano who coached Tusker for 1/4 of the season??? ama nani!!!...jipange!!!

@ Mc Reggae....Logarusic and Sserunkuma deserved their awards but hao wengine sioni. Tusker definitely deserved more awards, they've been more consistent than Gor this season. IMO Defender of the Season should have gone to either of the Tusker defenders, they've conceded less goals and kept more clean sheets in the league than any other team. IMO midfielder of the season should have gone to KCB's Paul Kiongera. Akumu performed well but nothing special and not consistent enough to win the award.

For some people Gor does deserve anything related to it being seen as JX3, ODM, OAR. But in reality, the team played very well and i think the awards are a true reflection of this.

Looking forward to next season (not the Aesenal one of 10 years and waiting)smile smile smile

The defender of the year award should have gone to either Shiko or Atudo because they conceeded less goals, kept more clean sheets and they won the league. Isn't that what the award is supposed to be based on, individual statistics. How has Anguyo performed better than those two, how do you determine a defender is the best in the league??

Kogalo ni kelele tu.
If the awards are dominated by 1 team where they don't even deserve some, it saddens me to think about how long it will take for Kenyan football to catch up with the rest of the globe.

GOR MAHIA is all about noise and that's the reason why they win, SADLY that did not help them on the D-DAY and even on Tuesday they couldn't ward off Sofapaka during normal time.

They are not as great as they believe!!!

The entire 2nd leg Gor has not been beaten by any team in any competion.....can't be by fluke and then TAZ wants to talk about consistency....pulizzzz

Yet it was still not enough to win the league, just goes to show how far off they were in the 1st half of the season. The problem is not Gor or its players but FKF, they are just flattering Gor with all these awards to make their fans happy so that they get more money from gate collections. Don't you find it strange that Mungai Kiongera was runner up in the player of the year category then finishes off third in the Midfielder of the year category. Thats really weird!

Loga and Sserunkuma deserve their respective awards lakini hao wengine wawili, hapana.
