Hi wazuans
Someone asked me what is the best option to put his money btn buying a Scania Dble steering tipper or Mercedes Actros chases + trailer. Obviously will depend on what he intend to do with the machines. He sounded like he just doesn't know exactly though he is aware of the booming construction works and so transportation of materials.
What would you advise?

Actros chassis and trailer..but again it depends on what your aim is...if its to carry sand etc then obviously the tipper will score...

From a friend of mine, no truck would give you a better service esp ferrying heavy construction materials than the Isuzu FVZ 10 wheeler. This is evident along msa road, thika, thika road, kangundo road etc. He Operates at mlolongo and has 2. The FVZ is also well known by customers so u wont do a lot of explaining, and spares are readily available.Avoid the Isuzu Giga. Ask around and do a proper due diligence. Best of luck.

Simonkabz, true but one fvz costs double the tata tippers.if you do your homework well you may find contractors who hire the tippers at 350k a month and in 60 months you have made some money before disposing or grounding the tipper.

I own a double steering tipper Scania and has me served very well. Its good for carrying ballast, murram, stones but not sand. Why not sand? Because the middle steering wheels offsets the load to the front wheels and the truck has a tendency to get stuck in loose soil when the vehicle is empty. On the river bed where sand is collected, the ground is very unsuitable for double steering whether scania or mercedes. Obviously the Merc has an excellent engine but Scania one is in no way inferior .

Good info. How does the Tata compare to Ashok Leyland?

Simonkabz,no much difference but the cabin for leyland is slightly better.i replaced the tata gearbox due to driver carelessness but the tata and leyland are at par in performance.
