All in all, let us not demonize Gor for without Gor football in Kenya would be passionless game. Thanks Gor for keeping football interesting in Kenya. I would not like football in Kenya to go where it was 5yrs ago where a match was played infront of 5 or 10 fans like a Kamencu bash.

BBI will solve it

It’s because of Gor supporters that people are not passionate about local football… due to their uncivilized hooliganism and proving that they have nothing between their ears!!!! Gor should compensate for the losses and be banned from the Premier league for the next two seasons!

Match ended just before 6 and people peacufully left the stadium, violence broke out along Jogoo Rd (near HAMSA) at about 7pm, I'm surprised none of these thugs have been arrested till today!!!!

As someone has pointed out, this is a much bigger problem. The police are on a go slow and did nothing - they always seem unprepared even when they have advance notice. GOR hooligans always seem to get away with trouble, KPL also do nothing about this. In well run leagues, even fans know that hooliganism has consequences for the clubs they support (fines, playing in empty stadiums, lost sponsorship Etc) and generally avoid unruly behavior which will hurt their clubs.

To the defenders of GOR, these guys used to assault coaches when they lose. It is not the way to attract the common man to stadiums. While GOR fans have contributed to the vibrancy of the local league any further development hinges on attracting more people to come to see live matches and pay for it. I certainly want to one day take my kids to see a match, but not at the risk of being assaulted. Its no wonder Kenya is the sick man of East Africa in football terms.

Give the police a break, please. What is so difficult for fully grown homo sapiens to manage themselves? If the police confronted the fans, surely they would have had to shoot a few to stop the chaos and i am sure today some wazuans would frothing and screaming of police brutality.
