There's a big lesson to be learnt here by the Kenya media, they need to learn when to call an election result. IEBC have so far done a fantastic job in releasing by elections results.

But somehow it helped to diffuse overconfidence (remeand ensure Democrats, especially the African Americans turned up in large numbers to vote. I also suspect that there could be silent celebration in the Republican camp. Obama has helped them (Republicans) get rid of McCain and Romney (as far as I know they can not run again). The Democrats may want to ensure that Obama passes on the baton to another Democrat in 2016(Hillary Clinton is a very likely successor) but it is also likely that a serious Republican contender will emerge in the next two years. Very well said.

NARC got 62% of the votes in 2002. Stop thinking Kikuyu this and Kikuyu that. How can you even challenge such a lanslide win? I have listened to guys who reason like you and yes it pains me. You are the kind that will shamelessly attribute all problems(natatus, land issues, corruption, tribalism, lack of jobs, witchcraft) to one tribe then when chaos breaks out you blame it on politicians.

Na mimi sijajam, labda ni vile I wont enjoy sukuma today. But seriously @nostop, you are the kihangeri of ODM. You have to drag tribe into every political discussion! I find it very hypocritical of us 'kawa Kenyans' to engage in ethnic attacks(veiled or direct) then blame Kibaki and Raila when stuff goes wrong!

Its breaking news in all major news outlet including kamene but not in CNN. Even MSNBC called it way before CNN. Was flipping channels from CNN to MSNBC and for a minute thought they were running the clips from 2008 as CNN was still something like 'this could go either way..." He could have pulled a fast one and with Moi on his side muscled his way into the State House. It would have mostly like ended in tragedy for all concerned but when has that ever stopped Africans (Mugabe comes to mind)? He did the right thing and conceded.
