The special being that our law enforcement officials never bother to enforce the law. The problem we have in Kenya is not that we lack laws but that we never enforce them seriously. Making more laws and raising fines is a step in the wrong direction in my opinion.

The Laws sound quite normal if you have been to most Western European countries. Small offence, big penalty, you won't do it again! You speed above the limit and you are mailed an invoice to your address. Minimum fine if 50 Euro for 10 kph above speed limit. 40 kph above the speed limit is a criminal offence, making you an outright guest of the court. Minimum fine, 500 euro. Who has such money to waste and at the same time accumulate criminal record?

Enforcement will change our traffic manners for the better.
