@say,I think the silence is more to do with skerians wondering 'where is this guy from?' If your portfolio is intact as you say,why haven't you moved to another broker? I personally wouldn't sell using them as that puts your cash in their bank account and that could be a bottomless pit.

I completely understand why Sayshap would ask such. I am in the same position,problem is,how do you move to a new broker if you are in the diaspora? They keep insisting that we have to be there in person. My portfolio is intact though,but I would appreciate it if anyone knows a way around this.

I'd to buy 100 KCBshares online with the little bal I'd in my acc. As stated below,ensure no cash! is accessible to them. Just 4now until their is a strong statement on their 'clean financial health'. Sm1 can also transfer shares to another broker and then trade.

@sayshap,

since Octomber 13,when KPMG took over as managers,its business as usual. KPMG are managing the finance,selling and buying and paying the money to you. place your order today. For those guys who had some money in their accounts before 13 Octomber will have to wait till mid Jan 2009 to be able to know the fate of thier balances.

I have filedl the transfer forms but seems that the DSL guys in Nairobi are not going to sign them,it's over a month now and i'm still waiting for the signed forms to send to me in Msa so that i can move to another broker.

@say

I think you have started the process abit late if your money is for the festive season. However,i believe you can fill in the transfer forms and move to another broker then offload.

I dont know what others like kina jammo,ikonini and the rest would do (may be they have some more info) but i wouldn't sell through DSL. However,call the current managers and ask them how to go about it,time frames for transfer forms to be signed,or the sale orders to be effected etc.

But again,why would you want sell your shares at the current prices!! hata kama ni xmas...... the prices are obscene!

Some deals are like glass. Sometimes it's better to leave them broken than try to hurt yourself putting it back together.

I filled transfer forms first week of official claiming period. They promised to call! me so that I pick the forms. Imagine they even discouraged me from moving to a certain broker arguing that the broker 'is not doing so well these days'. I confirm that the said broker is not one of the 3! I ignored the adviser anyway. We may have to wait until friday 29th (all should have lodged their claims by this date) b4 we here from receivers.

As regards the clients who are abroad,KPMG said:
We have now agreed on the procedures to be used by DSL clients who are not in the country.

With regard to transfer of your shares,you will need to give someone power of attorney to deal with the transfer of your shares from DSL. You can send us details of the person via email and the person will need to come in person to NHIF Building,Upper hill Nairobi with the following documents for your account.

1. A recent passport size photograph of the account holder
2. Copy of CDS statement
3. Original national identity card/passport of the account holder (If possible)
4. A certified copy of the national identity card/passport of the account holder

The power of attorney will indicate the identity document of your representative and he will need to come with the original of this.
