Eti in some golf estates in the US, plots are going for $1 or even free. Hope this doesn't befall Kenya's golf estates such as Thika Greens, Longonot Gates, Sergoit etc.

it is because of all the fees, taxes considering it is expensive to maintain the golf courses.Local property taxes are definitely coming to kenya in the next few years otherwise how else do we expect to finance the county governments.

How many people play golf in Kenya??

This Golf estates are a bubble waiting to happen. Maintaining the golf course is water, labour and financially intensive and to add salt to injury the number of people who appreciate a good course are very few.

I want to see when the stagnation. I doubt we shall have a real bubble!

i have always said the golf estates are waiting for the young guys to buy them like myself.they are simply too many and are selling a lifestyle that very few are willing to invest and maintain. thats my take on this issue

About 6000 golfers in Kenya and most are homeowners! But dont forget we have a growing aspirational middle class...

The reason why i asked is to exstablish if there is really bubble. The Kenyan mido crass is grwing and more and more are seeking luxury living. They dont have to be golfers but the "prestige" that comes with it will sell those estates like hot cake.

By the way, many of those who own homes at the Great Rift Valley Lodge live in Nrb
