Shem Kwega shot dead, the wife also shot and in critical condition.

......just yesterday a friend's father was shot dead, the insecurity in Kisumu now reaching an alarming level.

True, the high rate of insecurity incidences is now alarming in this town. They carjack you during the day and you can nothing about it - police are in the mix. They target Nairobians on Friday/Sato headed to shaggs. dont ever try stopping for cash,

Kwega has been in active politics. He lost to Ken Nyagudi and recently to Olago Aluoch. Just before his death, he was the ODM Chairman for Kisumu West.

He runs a petrol station(SOMKEN formerly Magharibi) in Kondele. He also owned the once famous Kwega buses and mini buses that plied the Darajambili-Kiboswa-Kisumu routes and at one time Kisumu-Nairobi routes.

sorry state of affairs but its not confined to kisumu alone lately its almost everywhere...

Very sad... there are riots now in Kisumu city. Police using teargas and live bullets to disperse rioters near Kondele. Mungu saidia

Yesterday they killed a very prominent research medical doctor.
