...In Italy you remain free pending determination of your appeals. In Kenya you are incarcerated immediately on conviction though under the Constitution you are now entitled to bail pending appeal. If you remain in and your conviction is upheld you are given credit for time served. If you are acquitted on appeal you get grounds for a suit against the Government for malicious prosecution
