Eid ul-Adha is here. Another one of the two main holidays in Islam: Eid Al-Adha and Eid ul-Fitr.

Quote:
Eid Al-Adha is celebrated at the end of Hajj (annual pilgrimage to Mecca), and Muslims usually sacrifice an animal and distribute its meat amongst family, friends and the poor.

So I say to you "Eid Mubarak". This is traditional Muslim greeting used during the festivals of Eid ul-Adha and Eid ul-Fitr.
Quote:
The phrase is Arabic, which translates into English as "blessed festival". It can re-phrased as "may you enjoy a blessed festival"
And Eid refers to the occasion itself, and Mubarak means "Blessed"

So what does it mean?
Muslims believe in all prophets of God and their message: Adam, Enoch, Noah, Lot, Abraham, Ishmael, Issac, Jacob, Joseph, Aron, Moses, David, Solomon, Job, Ezekiel, Jonah, Elias, Elisha, Zakarias, John, Jesus and Muhammad peace be upon them all.

Siku kuu ya Idd-Ul-Adha originated from Abraham. It is called the Festival of Sacrifice.
During Hajj, Muslims remember and commemorate the trials and triumphs of the Prophet Abraham.

Let me give you some background about it.
In Islam there are 5 pillars, the 5th pillar is performing pilgrimate to Makkar. This means to visit Maccah at least once in your lifetime, if you can afford.

So where is it?
Meccah is the city in Arabian peninsula. A city that from time immemorial, was known to be a sacred city.

Other scriptures (the Bible)
referred to it as Pakar or Paran in the old testament.
A place where Abraham, our common father, a patriot, took his wife and his son, by the order of God, and settled there in desolate valley.
And after some time Abraham returned to that desolate valley and built a building which is called the Kabah (means cube in Arabic).
This is not a building that God lives in, nor a secret building in itself, but building that was ordered by God for Abraham to build and go around it commemorating God,
not worshiping the building but worshiping God, but setting up that building so that human being comes from all over the earth and pray God,
call upon him for forgiveness and mercy and repeat the oneness and Glory of God.

The tradition
This Kabah, all Muslims repeating this tradition of Abraham, every Muslim from wherever they are from China, Russia, or Africa, or Autralia, or America, South America,
They have been ordered once in their lives if they are able to do so, to go to Makka and experience universal fraternity.

The ancient city's centuries-old sites are giving way to glitzy luxury hotels, which are not affordable for many
pilgrims.
The government says it is a necessary step, even if the construction comes at the expense of historical mountains dating back to the age of the Prophet of Islam
Muhammad and his
companions.

Happy Eid Adha!!! 4th or 5th Oct 2014

What is Eid al-Adha? "Eid" means holiday, "Eid al-adha" means festival of sacrifice the end of the Hajj (annual pilgrimage to Makkah). This year 2014, Eid al-Adha will begin on 4th Oct and it lasts for three days.

@littledove, it should be a cow, goat, sheep or camel. If you can afford. And the meat is divided into three parts:
1. One part keep to feed themselves family & relatives
2. second portion distribute to friends & neighbours
3. Third portion give it to the needy

Giving out this meat, in addition to the morning prayers, is considered an essential component of Eid al-Adha.

You're right @um sayala.

Deut 12 mentions the place of pilgrimage along with some indications of what is included in its festival.
Deut 12:5,11,14,18,and 21 The place is `the place which the Lord your God shall choose'
Deut 12:21 states that if the place of pilgrimage is too far away, the sacrifice may be performed at home
Deut 12:5 - God will choose place, makao yake, you'll face there. You must visit there.
... Amebarikiwa Yeye ajaye kwa Jina la Bwana."
Genesis 22:2 - house of God
1 Chronicles 3:2 - When Solomon built, he called it 'House of God'
Matt 21:12 what did Jesus call this house himself? He told them God said "House of God"
Isaiah 2:2 - end of time, people will go to house of God will be put upright and all nations will go there

However, the law, or books of Moses, does not state when the time of pilgrimage is.

Pervert Muhammad created Islam by trying to merge all the various beliefs around him from Christianity, Arianism, pagan moon worship etc

Then he effectvely used the sword to get new converts and deter conversions from Islam.

It has remained so until this day with his followers.

To the wild ass of a man, and the wild ass of a woman in Wazua, Happy Eid Al-Adha.

A caution to any Shiite/Kaffir, if you attend any of the events, it might be you they offer as sacrifice. Beware!

The Jewish religion and Islam originated from half brothers. A little bit of competition mixed with jealousy and other strong feelings should be expected.
