Bajaj Auto comes out with 2QTR13 results today. Exported over 1.2m units in FY12. Hero sold some 6.3m units world wide and Yamaha exported 120k units last year in Africa (3.5K units in Kenya, BDaily) and are riding on Uhuru's momentum. Foton and Suzuki have local assembly plants in Kenya.

Motor cycle registration in Kenya has tripled to over 140k in 2011.

Upto 150cc models are popular (guess!!!)

What is the future for these companies in terms of growth and prospects. Nigeria is full of them especially in Lagos and its a mess. Nairobi is somewhat spared.

Would you buy one?

Should we restrict their use especially in the city eg Nairobi and Mombasa???

They do a good job in the rural areas and would you invest in these companies. What do you think?

Uzimalife, This business is very profitable especially if you know people in the custom department.
With God's grace I might become the sole distributor of a popular brand here in Kenya next year

you can get a lower rate than the usual 25 percent
you can also quote a lower value, hence pay less duty. "just saying"
