Hi guys,need some help here,I have a mitsubishi lancer glx (the type that looks like a cedia at the rear),had some service done on it and the mech suggested replacement of the lead wires if he was going to replace the spark plugs,something about the ones I have now not enabling full contact for the sparks. Thing is he said the leads might go for around 8k each - they're two. I just need to confirm that I'm getting the correct ones when I go searching,he recommended Lucky Auto spares on Dunga road but I thought it better to get a 2nd opinion from anyone who might have the same model. Somebody mentioned Auto Assured garage in one of the threads but sina fununu iko wapi. Any opinion welcome

The only geniune parts (for sure) dealers for mistubishi i know (with a lot of experience)
1. Simba Colt (off mombasa road) - also stocks substitutes i don't know why
2. Rising Sun (Kirinyaga Road)- Geniune and best substitutes
3. Kapu(K)Ltd (Dar Es Salaam) - Geniune and mostly best substitutes

The best option for stuff like plug leads was the second hand dealers behind Kirinyaga. Now,looking for geniune leads is much the same as hunting for genuine spark plugs or genuine tyre rims,useless,get the best fitting,japan made original leads,it will save you being hit.

Listen,Mitsubishi lead wires failure leads to lost power and you may never enjoy ur ride! Please go to Rising Sun and have them replaced.

It should be possible for you to get the correct part number for your spark plugs online - a friend of mine with a mitsubishi galant did that and got the correct number. That way you'd be properly informed

For (mostly?) toyota guys,there's:

Just make sure you know your engine type.

DENSO does spark plugs for other cars apart from toyota - I suspect they do 'after market' plugs for a good number of japanese cars.

on the same note,im looking for a complete auto transmission for my mitsubishi lancer ck2A.i recently went to a 'specialist' in autos and coughed out 18k ati the fellow has replaced a faulty valve body,only for the problem to recurr later. im told that a complete system goes for around 25-30k. i'd really appreciate your assistance

Nyangao,be careful before you rush to replace a gearbox,in particular if it has electronically activated parts like lock down sensors etc. If not,go ahead. There are smart fellas who do cheap electronic diagnosis these days for like 2K or less and will advice you on the best next step and best priced shop for replacement,they also know where those rare to find parts may be sitting in some workshop
