PROPOSED ORDER ON CONTROL OF STRUCTURES WITHIN THE PROXIMITY OF THE PROPOSED SECOND RUNAWAY AT THE JOMO KENYATTA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT "PURSUANT to section 10 (2) of the Civil Aviation Act, it is notified for the general information of the public that the Director- General of the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority intends to make an order under section 10 (1) of the Act not to approve any height for construction of any structures including buildings, aerial masts and any other structures within the parcels of land specified in the schedule and which fall within the immediate proximity of the proposed second runaway at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport''. According to the Gazette notice, any person who is likely to be affected by the proposed order may make a written representation to the Director-General, Kenya Civil Aviation Authority, within two months from the date of publication of the notice. Details of the draft order may be obtained, free of charge, from the offices of the Managing Director, the Kenya Airport Authority, during working hours. http://www.kenyalaw.org/klr/index.php?id=1099
Neither KAA nor KCAA is giving any clear information on what is expected If this is in place, someone explain: why then is the resort club area being developed as a storied structure-with a supermarket coming up?

Right. Naivas is Coming up there.I doubt that this area is affected by the KAA directive. By the way I was along the Katani - Utawala road yesterday and I saw KAA Has fenced of their massive land there, which I think is a good thing. I have never had piece of Mind ever since I bought some land next to this road which boarders KAA Land. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God..

@dnn did you see this: That notice was Revoked
Gazette Notice No 16302 Pursuant to section 10 (2) of the Civil Aviation Act, it is notified for the general information of the public that the Director General of the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority revokes Gazette Notice No. 13133 of 2012 Dated 6th Nov 2012 ~ Source Kenya Gazette Vol. CXIV--No. 111 of 16th November 2012
Athiview was also affected they are doing phase 2 now. Viraj park, and a couple of other apartments were also to be affected including a portion which belong to Michuki's family. But i understand an agreement was reached since the land didn't belong to KAA they have alreay fenced their land. All land belongs to the Government lakini Wakiitaka wakuje wanunue

This is a harmless order similar to the one around Wilson airport. It simply means that new developments will need the approval of KAA regarding the stipulated height before local authority gives final approval. Buildings previously approved by local authority should not be affected. As Iron Sharpens Iron, So one Man Sharpens Another.
