I remember we were told here that we dont know how inflation works,if this does not impact on the figures going forward then whatever we are using is a flawed system for sure...steep increases indeed.,

A 5-6bob rise is less than 5% rise...

At 115bob we may still be lower than this time last year! So it might still reflect a decline in the inflation rate..

And in any case a 5% rise in fuel will probably lead to a 1.5% rise in inflation if all others stay constant...

People have forgotten that these prices are arrived at after a very comprehensive calculation using the formula that was discussed at great length between the regulator, the suppliers, the major consumers and the general public...

The prices are not determined by lobbying.

Chiaroscuro,seconded.oil companies would be making abnormal profits in the market but a closer look shows that they are running away e.g shell,kenol kobil,caltex etc

...ummmh nobody has questioned how the prices have coe about we know the formula applied by the ERC...just that i,l find it really weird if inflation continues to drop in the coming months...Electricity is also up 10%...
