Commodities, commodities, commodities.

"South Korea says it has agreed to develop farmland in Tanzania - the latest in a series of such deals between rich and poor nations.

Korean officials say 1,000 sq km (386 sq miles) will be developed - half for local farmers, half to produce processed goods for South Korea.

But Tanzanian officials have denied that any deal has been finalised...."

Behind the curtain, Spain presents a clear and present danger.

"(Financial Times) -- EU authorities are working behind the scenes to pave the way for a new Spanish rescue programme and unlimited bond buying by the European Central Bank, by helping Madrid craft an economic reform programme that will be unveiled next week.

According to officials involved in the discussions, talks between the Spanish government and the European Commission are focusing on measures that would be demanded by international lenders as part of a new rescue programme, ensuring they are in place before a bailout is formally requested..."

Tables turn on Spain with pressure to seek bailout - http://www.reuters.com/a...e-idUSBRE88N0BD20120924

Quote:
Spain once pushed hard for Ireland and Portugal to ask for bailouts from their partners in the euro because it was keen to shelter itself from an accelerating sovereign debt crisis.

Now the tables are turned and Madrid is holding back from applying for help, not least because the Spanish government knows all too well what befell its Portuguese and Irish peers once they did seek help -- voters dumped them.

Barclays new vault opens for gold - http://www.4-traders.com...pens-for-gold-15240450/

Even this bankster has decided to jump in...

Quote:
Barclays plc new vault anticipates demand from pension funds, central banks and sovereign wealth funds who have been scooping up the precious metal that has doubled in value since late 2008.

Precious metals storage has shaken off its dusty image, emerging as a lucrative business. Gold is preparing for a twelfth consecutive annual price rise against the backdrop of a flagging global economy and the debt crisis that has engulfed Europe.
