The greatest threat to our national security going forward is not Mungiki or Sungu-sungu or Museveni…it is lack of water…

Why?...the ministry of water has finally disclosed that there is possibility there will be no clean water flowing in Nairobi come October 2009. Reasons for this are:

· The levels at Dakaini Dam,which should provide Nairobi with 70% of its daily requirements is falling by several inches every day,since the rate of inflow into the dam is less than the rate of outflow
· Sasumua Dam,which should provide 30% of the daily requirements,is still under refurbishment

The ministry is HOPING that the contractor will finish construction of Sasumua Dam by October 2009,and that the short rains of Oct-Dec 2009 will not fail..meaning if the contractor does not finish in time and the Oct-Nov rains fail,THERE WILL BE ABSOLUTELY NO WATER IN NAIROBI COME NOV-DEC 2009!

Government is not in the business of tossing coins…that’s why they should not just sit and hope that the rains will start in time… or sasumua will be ready in time…

Lack of water come Dec 2009 simply means…No food,no bathing,no washing,no power and thus…no work….leading to Total Collapse of the Economy!! Is somebody listening? The government needs to come up with a workable plan / alternative in the wake of this grim reality!!...

If history is anything to go by,they didn’t do very well with maize crisis / shortfall!! Which they could have avoided so easily by proper planning!!!

@Baak,
Thanks for bringing this up. You know what,the Govt will simply do zero. Right now,its the budget defict and typoo errors. They will converge their minds on this one instead of working divergently towards other threats to economy. The MPigs we are having know how to react. Wait until Oct,then they will begin a song that the minster in charge should resign..They cant see now??????????!!!!>>>>>>>>>>>

Sounds bad,but should'nt the Nairobi Water Company step up and sought out this. Afterall they are the one's who send the bills and bank the cheques.

If they can't handle it then they should escalate it to City Hall,Maji House etc all the way to PM/Kiguoya's plate.

I guess if you can't win with facts,you can always pen bile-laced,xenophobic rants to distract everyone.
