The internet can shape opinion…..It can build or kill character…especially for the youth and our children..Am concerned that some of the language used here is unfit..…some posts are damaging to companies listed at NSE..and are made without due respect to the shareholders or their business interests.

I suggest the following code of conduct:

1. Let’s Be truthful. Don't lie or spread rumors about anyone or anything. Stick to discussing what is factually known. (Avoid crude posts like: This stock will kill people!! ..what will happen when the Splits come to the Market..??..Massacare will happen when the shares fall to 7bob!
2. Let’s Keep it clean. Comments containing obscene, profane, vulgar, lewd or sexually-oriented language including creative spelling and typographical representations of foul language should not be allowed (e.g. What were you doing with Chinedu's wife?.)
3. Be nice. Don't threaten anyone, and do not post any comments that involve racism, sexism or any other -ism that degrades another company or person. Hateful or offensive comments should not be tolerated. (e.g. I saw that idiot chirau making silly comments. He always plays the 'I have the power' card with appointments e.g. KAA or KPA... )

4. Don't hijack a thread. Make your point, exchange ideas, but don't overwhelm the discussion with repetitious posts or attempts to circumvent character limits.
5. Police yourselves. Do not respond to posts that do not meet this code of conduct.
6. SK team should have a full time moderator. Any posts that do not meet the minimum code of conduct (case of the reasonable man as taught in law) should be deleted at once.

All: Let’s add to this list please….I know some will dismiss this post but I trust SK will consider these suggestions.

Why not have a dress code, dont post here if you are wearing sagging jeans showing your boxers,or mini skirts....... Kidding

Seriously @ BAAK,

I appreciate your frustration and understand what you seek to achieve, but

Just let the site be. Majority of the people are quite sane even behind the fake names and persona. Besides,as the saying goes, every market has its madman.

I guess if you can't win with facts, you can always pen bile-laced,xenophobic rants to distract everyone.

Baaks, ladies and gentlemen. This is the internet. It is the internet because rule number one is that there are no rules. You can create all the codes, rules and regulations till kingdom come but you will be wasting your time and money. According to your code, you already know who are the worst offenders, therefore, avoid their threads and or posts. Period. Otherwise, you don't like the music? change channels. Out.

The reason i visit SK is because of the uncensored nature of the debates. I dont wholly agree with the contributors but i have benefited a lot from this forum from investing, relationships and once in a while i get a haughty laugh. Long live SK.

As for the admin,if its not broken, why fix it????

While I would not encourage online insults, slander or defamation, part of the reason the internet is so huge and prolific is the anonymity/facelessness,freedom of speech/expression and lack of control. Even this website would cease to exist if you take away these fundamentals.

Information is free. Share it.

Good idea!!! though may not pass the test of time. with such ideas coming on board,we are likely going to label individuals(members) as those who 'a good' and those who are 'bad' depending on what they contribute most on. There is also the risk of policing as we need to employ someone to ensure that the code of ethics is followed to the letter.

Since Kenya sio yetu but SK ni yetu,we can put this idea to voting. Allow me to issue voting guidelines;

1. Voting shall be by online method.
2. The highest vote shall not be by number of members who have participated in voting but it should be by 'contributions to the forum'(SK to provide from the database)
3. Non voters shall be treated as spoiled votes.
4.An independent KIvuitu from SK to be the returning officer.
5. Results be provided online.

@BAAK,who appointed you SK resident class prefect? Eti writing names of noice makers to give to the headmaster. We're all adults here and there is nothing wrong with someone adding a little color or flava to make emphasis,so f*** the hell off!!

Some posts remind me of a ka-site I know of where matusi is the order of the day, very minimal reasoning and objectivity. That kiddish forum can never make even a tiny +ve impact on any of the members' pathetic evil lives. Seems there is a spillover!

Simonkabz…you are my brother. SK is turning into a ‘matusi’ site or what..no wonder jammo seems to have left. Nowadays there is more air than substance in many posts we see here…Credible contributors like stocksmaster, young, etc come once in a blue moon. Yasserbigchair left eons ago…

For SK TEAM

When were players allowed to set rules for the game? Or students allowed to set exams? You need to come up with a code of conduct…This free for all approach may even be costing you some business…I believe there are corporates who may wish to advertise here but the environment is too hot tempered and bitter!

That said, some posts below should have been deleted by now…SK needs to CRACK the whip..
