@ Wendz, I could not bring myself to watch that news article. It was very very sad. That said, and as @McR has put it, that must be madness.. I think that guy had been pushed too hard and thought he was better off dead. Unfortunately, he might have believed that his children would be better off dead than live a horrible life of constant struggle.... Just trying to get an insight into his trail of thought.. not excusing his act at all. The dude needed serious help. There is a lot that was not said. we just got the end product.

Depression is indeed a medical condition with psychiatric/physiological/social causes.

Difficult to diagonise and characterized by extreme moods, clinical depression or another mood disorder [bipolar, substance induced] should be a common thread found running through majority of these self-harm cases.

Am missing something.How was he pushed to a corner and whats this writing on the wall-was it after he killed the kids or before?

This is a case where the neighbours should have been their brother's keeper!!!
