Whaddyu guys think about this deal from Jamii Bora Makao?
Standard 3 bedroom bungalow goes for 1.6m and a four bedroom maisonette goes for 5.5M
Problem is, its 60km from Nairobi. Good deal ama rip off?

The Bungalow for 1.6m may be a case of a deal too good.
As for the maisonette compare with other available options of about the same amount or slightly different.
If they were the only ones available I doubt if you would go wrong with such an investment and particularly in a place like Kisaju.
Consider all factors though.

I thot it was a pretty good investment until I went there and my thots changed. I think you should invest there when u have extra cash and not a loan that you are expecting to service with expected rent.

Most of the people living there, live in their own houses, the place is quite far from the main road, so I don't see anyone renting a house there. I would give it another 4yrs for that to happen.

If your buying for property appreciation I would say buy because it will definately appreciate. I would go for the 1. something houses or the shops going for about 300k - 600k if I were u. The 5M houses I wouldn't think about them...

I have a plot purely for speculation. No intention of living there.

There was a time a Mzee offered me a free plot at Kitengela if I bought two near Yukos. I declined. I still regret to date. They were going at Ksh 14,500.00. The unfortunate bit is that I could afford the same with sacrifices here and there. Don't know the exact price today but you would understand if I told you I do not wanna know! Never underestimate land potential. Please remember that Githurai was once considered too remote and you would be out of your mind to purchase a plot around Ruiru.

Was the small matter of Kisaju being bang on the wildlife migratory route resolved? I seem to remember Julius Kip swearing he would clear the settlements there.

For daily commuters, it's not an ideal location. I'm not a daily commuter, just want an out of town home, that is not too far, should I want to occasionally go to the city.
