Is it a good deal? This was in the Sunday Nation today and it is offered by Willow Creek Ranch http://willowcreekranches.com/ for Kes 90k/ acre.

Think it's a good offer. But another part of me asks, why now - raising funds for elections?

See the FAQ section:

3. HOW ABOUT THE ISSUE OF SQUATTERS?

There are 80 families who will occupy 1,000 acres of land. We have already entered into an agreement of resetlling all the 80 families.

Squatters are in the area...do you think this will be sorted out?

very tempting. there seem to be 17 years left on the lease but they will issue out leases for 99years?
question is will the lease renewal be that easy given the new land laws
I may be wrong..but then I could be right

I too developed some interest after seeing the advert but am curious what are the issues I don't know.

I am certainly trying to do my due diligence so any information I pick here is very helpful indeed.

Isn't the area near the river a swamp area? Explains the low price I think....

This area is along the Galana-Sabaki river (Athi River as it is known upstream) near the village of Lango Baya. The road from Malindi to Tsavo East goes through here (a rough sandy road). The area is remote, hot and arid and there is some irrigation done along the river. Due diligence is important, some of the glossy pics in the website are not of the area( Golf pics may be from Vipingo Ridge, Rea Vipingo plantation, Kilifi). Enda ujionee.
