There was an enemy called Gaddafi. The US supported freedom fighters to overthrow him. Now they are expressing their freedom.
There was once an enemy called USSR in Afghanistan. The US supported some Mujahedin freedom fighters to fight them. One of those freedom fighters happened to a young rich boy from Saudi Arabia called Osama Bin Laden.
There was another enemy called Saddam Hussein in Iraq. The US invaded the country defeated him and gave him to the majority Shia to try him and later hang him. Now the Shia rule Iraq. They have very good relations with their neighbor Iran. The Shia feel very deeply about some issues and soon they will be expressing those freedoms in ways the US will not find amusing.
