what happens to all those news sites that quote paragraphs from speeches - are they also punished ?

Yes they are. Someone is being punished. Its a question of the level of punishment and the authority of the website.

For example, if CNN copies a story from your site, they will get accredited simply because they are an authority site. Luckily for you they have the good manners to send a link to your site by accreditation so you don't suffer from them "stealing" your article but you actually benefit.

However, that story will appear in the searches as originally from them and not from you. If they don't leave a link to you, you are punished for copying content.

From the reactions you'd think she's been accused of first degree murder! It seems guys were waiting on the edge of their seats for her to slip up.Noone is perfect, she should just apologise and life goes on.

People are just happy to see the most proud and arrogant woman in Kenya in trouble. The feminist had the nerve to tell young women to avoid the kind of guys who take them out pale Njugunas.

Also on this annoying list are the Kenyan photo editors who have taken to using internet photos to accompany general life articles... and the photos come without captions to indicate their source. DOUBLE SHAME on them as well!

Nation website had a map showing the area where the gas discovery was made. Some lazy fellow copy pasted the map from some website calling our Malindi 'Melindi'. They at least corrected this in the print copy

I can only imagine what my lecturer would say if this happened to one of us in his class.

I think the biggest issues with many people in leadership positions is they over estimate their abilities and this is what Carol has caught herself on. I note recently she has been "visible" offering all sorts of "talks" and the pressure to remain relevant has pushed her to over the edge. I think she got ahead of herself and ratings and generally the success of Radio Africa may have deceived her and not forgetting she has no real skill/talent to write home about.

Maybe let it be a lesson to all and borrow a lesson from Marketingfocus on your clientele and not the products ( in this case the clientele is so much more informed - better watch your step)

The greatest danger in times of turbulence is not the turbulence; it is to act with yesterday's logic.
