Moving away from who are the richest Kenyans list (which is populated by many corrupt individuals) a more relevant list for Kenyans would be Who are the most giving Kenyans?
My small list
1. Dr. Geoffrey Griffin - Starehe Boys' Center & School
2. Wangari Maathai - Greenbelt Movement
3. The woman who raises up her 5 children by herself and gets them to university after her husband abandons them
4. The Policeman who talked with rioters during PEV and convinced them to stop destroying stuff in stead of shooting them or assaulting them
...
I'm curious to see the many other honorable Kenyans I've left out

Tecla Lorupe and Paul Tergat - very humble people who have their own initiatives for conflict and sports...

Michael Joseph - he has touched many lifes with Safaricom Foundation.

And now the rest.

Kamlesh Paul Pattni - for sharing his hard earned loot with various politicians and poliical brokers. He is still giving to the church.
Denial (sic) agrab Moi - for dishing out any loose land to his cronies and anyone at large.

The Catholic church has built countless health centers and schools that have benefited a huge number of Kenyans.
Great business people who keep their companies profitable, protect the environment and provide decent employment/wages to a large number of Kenyans. Example of such companies???
Well run government institutions that provide decent services to Kenyans and are professional: Examples???

not easy to know. Might be someone in a small town somewhere who takes care of just 1 orphan from meagre earnings.IT'S NOT HOW MUCH YOU GIVE,IT'S WHAT IT COSTS YOU. Remember Jesus and the poor widow? He praised her coz of HOW not WHAT she gave .it could be someone uncelebrated in philanthropy, even you!

The chief value of money lies in the fact that one lives in a world in which it is overestimated.

@ mv ufanisi - I diasgree with you on the catholic church being on this list. They might own loads of health instititutions but they are all money making. Think about where most of the money to build those magnificient church building come from not to forget the well maintained priests'cars? A lot of it - from Mama Mboga and others who toil all day.

Most giving? Don't underestimate and therefore forget the diaspora community. A lot of them finance the upkeep of their families and indirectly contribute to our country's economy thru real estate and others.

Cheers!
