Without youth development programs, even a Harammbee team under Ferguson,Mourinho,Guardiola and Wenger put together wouldn't go past Eritrea.Other than being a waste of time and money,it goes to show how dumb Kenyan football administrators are...NKt!

I wish him well, but i will be surprised if he even takes the Stars to Cup of Nations and go past the group stage... i short i do not expect him to do better than any local coach because the fundamentals like the youth and soccer administration have not been addressed. lets wait and see!

Sad sad sad. As someone who watches Harambee Stars matches, I know that we need to go back to basics and get it right from the youth teams, school teams.

Spain went through a similar phase with the federation rolling out similar training methods (for coaches and teams) with an emphasis on short passes and patient build up. The approach did not bear fruits immediately. The results are there for every one to see. Second phase involved training referees. Believe it or not, one of the reasons why the much hyped EPL stars do not take England past the first knock out phase is the poor quality of the English referee.

My problem with these foreign coaches is that they're here for 2 weeks, then fly back to their country for 3 weeks, fly back in for 2 weeks at a certain tournament then fly out again to look for another team to coach.

I concur. without football development programmes from the grassroots whether we do what, we are going nowhere. This is more heartache from the thieving Nyamweya and co.Sad
