I have been considering investing in a good watch. The problem is I don't have a history of owning watches,infact I hardly ever wear a watch and at present I don't own one and have not owned one for 10 years.

I need to buy a really good watch,ignore the Rolex,Brietling Taghuer ......class,sijafika hapo,but give ideas about any other watch,and what I should look for.

I have been looking at Sekonda,Accurists,Seiko,Swatch,etc.

hehehe....why do you want one now? NDE perhaps?...nway,from a lady's point of view,look for one with a big 'face' and pure leather straps,it's what we notice...hehe

ama am the one who is not getting it right?? isnt the damn thing used for telling what time it is?? or it has some other use apart from being a load on you hand??

@Obi

From your post you arent buying a watch to use,you are buying a watch for a statement coz if you have not owned one for 10 years,its really not for the use of it but for the style... if that be the case,then buy a good watch that will say it all silently. The good thing with good watches is that you wont need to invest in another one any time soon.

You can check the following which can suit your budget as they have wide ranges

Haurex Italy
Stuhrling
Citizen
Pulsar
etc

Some deals are like glass. Sometimes it's better to leave them broken than try to hurt yourself putting it back together.

TagHuer is too expensive.

As Wendz put it,I want a watch that makes a statement,I probably will forget to wear it half the time,and I don't wan to buy another watch again,unless I have to move to the Rolex,Brietling etc class.

I am willing to spend as much as 50K. So please lets not mention 3,500. I probably have an idea of the look I want,what I don't know is the fine prints,what makes a good watch.

if thats your budget,check Movado (someone has in the office and they think its a great watch) or Swiss Army or something like that. - let me add that the dude is just crazy about watches! he just told me the price he bought it at and i think its just crazy!

by the way,do they stock some of these watches here in kenya?

A silver CASIO WR 50M. Comes with a 10 year battery and the thing is not flashy so will not invite the muggers. Set you back around Kshs. 6,000.

@Wendz and GG

Thanks,I will find out more about the watches you just mentioned. Infact I want a watch to use exactly as GG uses his,navaa nikienda function ya nguvu. Get it insured etc.

I am also willing to spend quite some amount coz they are relatively cheap here compared to Kenya and right now I have seen many shops discounting their jewellery (including watches). There is the possibility that I could spend 50K and get something valued at 100K-150K

By the way this guyz have to turnover stock every year (twice a year for clothes),hata kama wanapeana bure.
