Fellows; I need to set up my kid at a good play school,I have identified one called Jacana in parklands. I would like advise on 2 things 1. Is this a good school, they say they can get admittance to peponi later etc 2. My son is only 27 months, but I much prefer he goes to play school rather than staying in the house with the house gal. is this okay ama he is too young 3. For all this to happen,I need to move the family to Parklands, does anyone know of a good property for rental, and how much are rentals in Parklands 4. And finally, what other good child caring school options do I have, they currently live along Mombasa road cheers I guess if you can't win with facts, you can always pen bile-laced,xenophobic rants to distract everyone. Msingi bora would be somewhere in Kilimani, right? Do they have another one along Mombasa road? Its a damn good school, and they do admit boys,my nephew goes there. Thanks wendz, will just keep gathering info, the idea is to live next to the boys school so he doesn't spend 2 hours on the road. I don't want him getting sick of school by age 5. @Obi
yes. that where it is. For good schools, you will have to move. with the kind of jams we have in nairobi,no other way. I had to and am glad i did. Its the small sacrifices you have to make.

Obi Wan - can't advise on real estate except to answer question 2 - no,he is not too young to start playschool - in fact if he is an only child, his speaking skills will develop faster and he will start learning independence. Having said that, assuming you nail down a place in Parklands, try St Marks Church nursery - pretty good (my 2 kids go there) - fees 15k per term, good grounding in religion as well though students there come from diff religions. Mrs Meja is the head teacher. Rev Machira the church vicar. From 2010 they want to start a Primary.

Also,if I am not wrong, there is a Msingi Bora just off Muthithi road (as you come from the Mpaka Rd Junction look for a left dusty road)

I have decide to settle for Riara school around Imara Daima. Can someone tell me how Riara schools are generally. Are they good I need some quick advise from anyone with knowledge on the their child friendliness. I don't care much about the perfomance in KCPE,what I want to know is there early childhood development record. @ Ikenya, Apparently I did get lots of offers to-let for houses in parklands, the old Muhindi ones. And the monthly rentals are not too bad, just tafuta harder. Try St. Hannas on Ngong Road
They are good in early childhood development and have reliable and affordable school transport.

Ngong road is too far,my 28 month old son is not sitting in traffic for 2 hours. The options are a school near the house or I move houses I guess if you can't win with facts, you can always pen bile-laced,xenophobic rants to distract everyone. Obi I thought you are out of the country? Msingi bora can be ok for your son. I mean fundamental analysis, you get me? Yes I am,but family is in kenya, A not ideal situation but what to do. Msingi bora would be perfect but its too far ama there's another on mombasa road, and I need to know if Riara is any good coz its very near my house. msingi bora's great and relocated to kilimani area however I hear you book your child in 3 years before birth... there's a waiting list from here to timelessville... houses around parklands try the highridge area, new 3 bed apartments especially near kusi lane if you can not be kind,at least have the decency to be vague speak softly and carry a big stick, you will go far... Riara is good. Their early child development is good. they get to be all round..... surprisingly, there is a difference between Riara Ngong road and Riara Springs but not on quality of education. If your concern is just education, then let him go to Riara Springs (next to Imara). Had to move from there to enrol my son in the one on Ngong road.

Thanks wendz, I think I will place him at Riara (Imara) and see how much he goes. I just want him to benefit from interacting with other kids coz he is a single child.
