22 mil for a 29 year old with 1 year left on his contract would be a fantastic deal for us

I think this is just specualtion. Van Persie is TOO expensive even at £15m! And what's more, we don't need him!!! He is a fantastic player and would definitely add to the fire power but we have bigger problems - Central Mid Field. Man United has more than enough strikers and that is why a world class striker - Berba - has been confined to the bench!

And where would Van Persie play anyway? Lone striker [Where he excels]? I don't think so! No way Rooney is warming up the bench! Behind the striker? I don't think so. He doesn't play very well there! That is custom made for Kagawa who would now have to warm the bench - not likely!

I hope this money will be spent in the mid field. Why should Man U fianance Arsenal's operations? Let them keep Van Persie if they want. They can convince him to sign a new contract or lose him for free at the end of the season but £22m and £220,000/= for a 29 year old is TOO rich - unless he pulls a Giggs!!!
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

This is the worst transfer that Wenger has ever agreed to. It will come to bite the Gunners big! The devils have just been handed the title in silver plater, just imagine Rooney and RVP gosh what a goof!

With 2 weeks to go till the end of the window, Gunners everywhere will be casting nervous glances at The Emirates hoping that we are not bullied into selling Alex Song by Barcelona and that Walcott signs a new deal

If Song, moves I think a replacement signing will be made. I don't think RVP will be replaced with a same-level-quality signing (If at all a new striker will be signed). Giroud and Podolski were the replacements. A new striker will be a backup. Of course we still have Chamakh and Park who are surplus to requirements

GOD BLESS YOUR LIFE

We do not need another striker although there are reports that Arsenal have made a bid for Llorente. I've always said that Podolski has almost identical skills to RVP plus he's much stronger, that was clear last weekend against Koln. I'm certain we are still in the market for more players, hopefully Sahin will join soon. All the best to RVP let Man Utd worry about his medical fees now. Soon it will be Podolski scores when he wants!

I still wonder why Fergie is not addressing the bigger problems in the team, quick shocking. RVP gone and for a very good fee for a 29yr old with a suspect injury record. Hope man u get value for money at least for 2 yrs..new era for gunners.

Reports are that Song has of late got serious attitude problems and Wenger is fed up, so he's been told he can leave.

BBC also reported that RVP was quite impressed by the new signings and was contemplating staying but Wenger told him on Sunday that he is no longer part of his plans. I guess Wenger got fed up upon RVP releasing a damning statement regarding the club. That Man Wenger seems unforgiving when u cross his path.

Taz apparently Sahin is going on loan to Liverpool.
So our best bet is Wenger to sign Llorente

Sahin prefers Arsenal but mourinho would rather he goes to Liverpool - He probably thinks he will develop faster/better there.

This is the best deal Wenger has had in decades. He has conned Man U outright. Was SAF in his right senses 24m surely. Anyway time will tell.

UONGO

But seriously what was Van persie thinking... He will just be another Tores at Old Tranford.... Expectations will be high and he will not be able to meet them. Even Kemboi has learnt something from Drogba...You quit to something a bit different when you are on top of your game. He is expected to play on Monday and score goals...Wacha tuone...Rooney will be there to frustrate him!

I think his best deal was the sale of Anelka to Real Madrid. The deal has been sweetened by to whom the pain has been passed to (when SAF is the victim). But my worry is when Rooney and RVP click and decide to synchronize their playing style.

In Wenger we trust.

@ Maichblack......In Sahin's case it has nothing to do with the player's development, Mourinho used to work with Rodgers at Chelsea so he just wants to pass on a favour to his old friend. Sahin wants Arsenal because he thinks our style of play suits him better and also wants CL football, anyway lets see how the story unfolds.
