Ferran Soriano off to Man City?

Ferran Soriano

By the way the salary structures in football are baffling.

You pay a player £220,000/= per week [£11.4 million per year], The manager £57,000/= per week [£3 million per year] and the CEO £38,000 per week [£2 million per year]!!!

It must very very nice managing fellows who make six times you salary. Never mind that they also have multi million dollar sponsorship deals, bonuses, a cut of their transfer fees etc. There is an Atwoli somewhere who is totally asleep. Player salaries have increased at a very high rate but management salaries have not been able to keep up with the pace!

For some reason, I am not excited by this news. I still feel that he is too expensive but hopefully he proves me wrong. I can't wait to see the formation SAF will employ. I hope it doesn't sacrifice Kagawa. What happens to Chicha and Welbeck [just signed a new deal]. Berba definitely out the door - if ever there was any doubt.

Back to our mid field. What's the plan with that? Something needs to be done. Two weeks enough? Time will tell!

RVP is a good player and he'll definitely score a few goals for Man Utd but i doubt he'll play as good as he did at Arsenal.....Wenger used him as a lone striker, at international level he's usually paired with another striker which might explain why he hasn't really lived up to the hype. He's only had one or two good seasons at Arsenal so Man Utd fans better hope he continues with his good form otherwise it will be a waste of 24m.

Another fact to consider is that the Arsenal fans will not forget his lack of loyalty especially by joining an EPL rival.....he'll even be under a lot of pressure from Man Utd fans. Torres is yet to settle at Chelsea but lucky for him his age was right. I expect RVP to receive the same treatment as Adebayor and Nasri....Arsenal fans booed him last weekend against Koln.

Now rumour mills have it that Man United is about to sell Chicharito to Arsenal. Now that would be just plain stupid!!! We buy the past and sell the future???

If and when Van Persie becomes a Man United player, I will support him but I still believe he is a luxury purchase - the same way @Njung'e [on a tight budget], buys his bijuti chrome rims and yet it has no insurance!!!

As a Man United fan, I hope SAF has seen something I haven't or has a plan the rest of us are not privy to. And £22 - 24m for a 29yr with an year remaining in his contract? and what will be his personal terms?? I really hope I will be proven wrong on this one. I really do!

Strange that going by this report Van Persie was entertaining the idea of staying but Wenger told him he is no longer part of his plans. I guess he was fed up by the statement and the fact that he blatantly and in the open attacked the club's management.

I don't think SAF can let Chicharito go. The likes of Berbatov and Macheda are the most likely to leave. Chicharito and Welbeck will be the support cast while Henriquez is being groomed.
