Why don't we focus on what we can achieve for the majority of Kenyan poor like elimination of poverty, slums, clean water for all and national healthcare. These are more pressing needs IMHO.

They want to show the world how ahead they are currently. I doubt whether they will be thinking of how much they will get from the games. After all they are flush with oil/natural resources money. As for Brazil they want to show the world that they are the big boys in the BRICS. Haven't S. Africa and China successfully pulled of theirs? At times this becomes very costly as Greece learnt the hard way.The current financial troubles they are facing can be at least partly attributed to hosting of the Summer Olympics in 2004. It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt...

Geez the cost of hosting Olympics is even more than Githae's ambitious budget of 1.4T, Fiscal year 2012/2013. This guy needs to go for a mouth doping test..
