Kenya Prime Minister Raila Odinga announced Wednesday (Aug. 8) that the Republic of Kenya is starting the process to pitch Nairobi, its capital city, as the host of the 33rd Olympiad in 2024. The moment a space will be allocated as an olympic village every other kenyan will want an 1/8th for flats and 60X40 for commercials around the place and we will have a slum complete running efficiently before the olympic village is complete. who's fooling who !

..This guy is unbelievable why mislead the country?? sounds like the Ayacko guy some years back who said Kenya would hoast the world-cup.. @Mcreggae i have no party/leader affiliations but having seen almost first hand what it takes to organise the olympic games, small wonder no African country has ever hosted it! It will take an ENOURMOUS amount of cash,goodwill from politicians,a complete revamp of infrastructure,accomodation, JKIA will need to be extended (further),companies will need to work on flexi-time,security the list is endless. ..Try and google the report by CISCO on the bottlenecks they faced in preparation for this olympics? (Do you know NBC'S streaming link broke down during men's 100m final, guys in the US waliona recorded version) LOCOG website crashes everyday here and this is powered by BT,trust me when i tell you hatuwemek!!

Is is costing the UK $19B to host the olympics. This is about Kshs 1.6 trillion. Who will fork out this Mulla? One could transform a country with this kind of money if well spent. Great men are not always wise, neither do the aged understand judgement...
