My fundi was initially recommending Crown but we settled for Duracoat coz they had the specific color shade that I wanted. We had bought 2 samples (1 litre) of the same colour code from both Crown and Duracoat and painted a small section of the wall to see how it would look. And trust me, we unanimously chose Duracoat coz the colour looked slightly better. And so far so good, am a happy customer. Duracoat also mixes the paint you want on the spot.....'fresh rangi' as Marangi puts it. And it's slightly cheaper than crown.

If customer service is anything to go by, Dura coat is always responsive to emails unlike crown paints which has never responded to any of my mails.

The two companies use the same paint base!

But Peter Marangi gives more variety of colours.

And about asking painters... they know little about quality, perhaps only how easily the paint spreads. After they paint your house they move on. They will hardly ever know how long the coat will last, whether it will lose colour, how easy it is to clean etc

As far as those qualities are concerned, Crown and Duracoate are the same.

As I said earlier; just pick which you find cheaper and has the specific shade you want.

Go for Marangi's products.

I have used their products without disappointment. The finishing is great and variety super. Crown is just overpriced.

All these mafundis know nothing regarding quality.We customers are the one who know the quality.
