He has already claimed a reduction of road accidents in the last one week after the crack down.Yet I attend to an average of 10 accident victims daily in my practice. Next he is alleging to prosecute the PSV owners for offences caused by their drivers, yet no amendments have been made to the relevant sections of the act

Just an overambitious sexist putting the lives of kenyan enterpreneurs in the hands of corrupt kenyans, while inconveniencing other poor kenyans. These idiots will ground a vehicle 4 a very mundane xcuse, ati a buckle is damaged,or a lamp is CRACKED (not broken) n poof!...there goes 30k into the pockets of thieves! If I were him,my clearest instructions would read strictly SPEED GOVERNER n no overloading. The rest is a load of bullcrap that is UNIMPLEMENTABLE.

Can silence be misquoted?

i think the law of prosecuting owners for acts committed by their drivers or conductors is the most archaic law we have.Put personal responsibility squarely on the drivers and that should reduce traffic violations and accidents by half.

@ murenj, you say that you ' attend to an average of 10 accident victims daily in your practice' . Are you a doctor working in the accident and emergency department at a hospital? Or a lawyer? Perhaps even an ambulance chaser? Ama wewe ni polisi?

It is a historical fact that crime rate increased dramatically when thousands of p.s.v were grounded when michuki rules were first introduced. But again history has proved that man does not learn from history

@Murenj,itz.. He is just enforcing the law. If your matatu is found defective, the owner will be charged with allowing while the driver will be charged with driving a defective motor vehicle. Kenyans, give the commissioner time, does it mean that there is nothing good he has done. indeed we are a complaining Nation

@ infoMer. Thanks but no thank you. If he applys the law equally to all motorists.,i can assure you that there will be no traffic jam in the city. The standards are so high that a burnt out indicator lamp is enough to set you back by 30k

The thing is matatu sector needs a 'madman' to be streamlined....These bigs fines for small offenses are ok....They will ensure that the sector is not made for rejects ....Kudos Iteeri...you are my man ...scare away these jokers...@Murenj.....More people are dying on roads than thro' muggings .....It has been genocide on roads ..8 people dying daily on kenyan roads is a cause of concern.....Kenya roads are among the most dangerous in the world..you can easily die on them......

You should actually fear them more than you fear robbers.......Robbers will come occassionally ..and become news .....grisly road accidents have become a norm ..no news..

If you want your vehicle to be on road ...

make sure that its clean...you wont have problems with Iteeris mboys......

The inspection units shoud also be reshuffled,...it's a den of thugs ...FULL OF CORRUPTION... Kinyee(sk cop)/Iteeri(boss) listening?

Kudos again for acting on no.9 and 58 matatus......I hear they have a week to cleanup their vehicles ............MOA has also supported you

Since you are younger than Michuki.... I would say ..Iteeri for president 2012..

well spoken @Funda. but beware! the same rules will one day be applied to private motorists to de congest the city. They are already operational in developed countries. Then you will not have the energy to campaign for your presidential candidate.

' shida ni kwamba hile ratio bado iko juu tu sana'

you know, the police to civilian ratio, which is supposed to be 1:400 but here its like 1:2000 although with the kind of apathy our police display its more like 1:5000.

@ murenj. I bet you there is no accident caused by such stuff. Anyway, even Michuki couldn't do that. When all other mathrees were one coloured,Buru mats still had their thing. I think this is just talk when someone new wants to chokoza the matatu industry.

If you want anything to work, work it
