@Newfarer...You can have all the policeman in the world brought to Kenya to enforce these rules, but it will all be in vain...It starts with us...Our driving habits are terrible...We have the worst road manners and the accidents will continue to occur unless we change our attitude.... It is so sickening that nearly all the drivers think it is a crime for you to change lane and the driver on the side cant give you way. So stupid...
...One thng I have vowed to do is to have road manners. I will always give people way...And never do anything that will endanger other road users, unless of course I do something that I did not know...Lord have Mercy

magigi 90% of all accidents are caused by speed and unroadworthy vehicles. if the speed governor rule was seriously enforced by THE POLICE we would reduce accidents by 80 % but police at inspection unit have made the place a corruption den where vehicles get inspection certificates in absentia.
the machakos accident occured due to some speed mischief by a matatu driver.he's now dead.

SPEED: Pressing the accelarator is a humanbeing's foot so i dont see how speed in itself can be a cause.

UNROADWORTHY: The driver driving around with a vehicle with no breaks is to blame and not the condition of the vehilce.

Police are just there to police (enforce regulations )but we need to take responsiblity for our own actions.

These road accidents should have been declared a national disaster long ago and measures to stop them taken very seriously. How many more lives will be lost before we start enforcing traffic rules the michuki way?!

This notion that August is somewhat "jinxed" in Kenya is a fallacy peddled by the media.

Why do we forget that, for example, the Ngai Ndethya railway accident that killed 65 people in one go occurred in January?

Or that in May this year, the Kyanguli school fire disaster that killed 59 was in the month of March?

Or that the 2008 PEV that killed over 1,000 people was in January

Or.....

Or.....

Every month has it's fair share of calamities.

Please; let's stop peddling baseless fallacies as if they were factual

May I add the Mtongwe Ferry disaster that took about 270 lives was in April 1994?
