Yes. Its always great to watch these great Kenyans. It was a bit sad though to watch Salina Kosgei fall down but she was able to get up and keep up with the leading pack upto Central Park when she faded away probably due to that early fall. The men's pack was really huge about 13 guys for the longest part of the race. It was Ramala who shook things up with his now signature blast on 1st avenue lakini wapi Cheruiyot,Kwambai, and Keflezighi were with him all the way and in fact left him behind. The front group of 4 had Cheruiyot,Kwambai,Keflezighi and Gharib. Cheruiyot put in some blistering surges to shake off the rest but Keflezighi clang on and refused to go as Kwambai faded. When they hit the Central Park hills Meb just put his foot down on the gas and he dropped Cheruiyot for good. At the presentation ceremony you could just see the disappointment in Cheruiyot's face as he received the silver medal and examining it as if to say,'hii ni nini?' He is a great and respected champion but today just wasn't his day. $ 65,000 sio mbaya sana but when you consider that it could have been double that had he been 42 seconds faster you can understand his disappointment.
