is there a monetary prize for the medal winners, ama its only that ka big coin they get - is it pure gold that they can sell ama hata hiyo ni coating tu.

na huyu feps wa usa, I understand he is the greatest olympian with all those medals. I don't know how this whole swimming thing goes - can someone please explain how he managed to get all those medals.

Let the gold rush begin. Barring any Russian or Chinese unknown surprises Vivian should bring hme the 1st gold. Dibaba has not been in very good form.

Having watched her win the New york golden league 10000m,two months ago i reckon she will be a more formidable threat to Vivian as compared to Defar.

on paper its dibaba her last lap is blistering fast for a 10000 meters race and thats what it will ultimately come down to .

some great analysis from letsrun.com

They've raced 17 times in history and the results database we subscribe to says Dibaba has won 15 of them.

but I don't get this front, back and breasts positions they are talking about - then they add another medley which is supposed to be a combination of all the above.

Starting in 1968, every time that Kenya has showed up at the Summer Olympics (they boycotted 1976 and 1980), a Kenyan man has won the Olympic gold medal in the steeplechase. No such other streak exists in track and field.!!!

.......Ezekiel Kemboi started the race in last place in the first two laps of heat 3 but powered himself to the front in the final 200 meters though he slowed down 50 meters to the line to allow Ethiopia’s Gari Roba the first place finish.Kemboi finished 2nd and qualified for the finals.
