I would pick Paul Mwai.... we need someone who can keep the chairman in his docket and run CMA as the CEO not as a PR person.

I doubt that he can. Wanjiku Mugane is the man!

I'd pick Paul Mwai, he has a multi-faceted experience having worked at Barclays, African Alliance and a Stock brokerage firm. We need a hands -on CEO like him who understands all aspects of the Capital Market & stakeholders opportunity/challenges. The rest of the candidates have one line of experience only. Rose is a regulator only! Wanjiku is an Investment banker only! Pick Paul Mwai, Hon Githae, Kenya won't regret it!

From the short description, I think Paul will go for me, too. Though I would be more convinced with what plans they have for our capital market and what new ideas could be in the kitchen from each candidate.
There is nothing as dangerous as an Idea, when there is only one Idea

I would pick Wanjiku Mugane, she has the spirit of an entrepreneur having started her own company First Africa group she has the experience of raising funds and worked in boardrooms in equity where she was not a pushover and also EABL. The other two have not started and grown any companies spent all their time being bureaucrats and paper pushers. If this is the same Paul Mwai who used to be at old mutual then just another boring and colourless guy spent ten years portfolio mananger at BBK nothing eventful

Definately Rose Lumumba is a no no; insider so there will be no change and she is more of a regulator/administrator.

Anybody who knows M/s Mugane would attest to the fact the she is equal to the job. She has vast regional (Africa) expereince and by the way she is no pushover. She is in this business of structuring deals for long so she knows her way around

Pauls credentials looks equally impresive.

In the words of Mary Kay Ash founder of Mary Kay products- "There are three types of people in this world: those who make things happen(Wanjiku Mugane, MS,MBS), those who watch things happen(Paul Mwai) and those who wonder what happened(Rose Lumumba)."

Paul is obviously beholden to the exclusive boys club that runs the NSE hence his stint at AIB. As I said Wanjiku Mugane is the man! Tough as nails in negotiations and as others have pointed out an enterpreneur who created a successful business before selling it off. Need I point out the EABL & Equity boards experience?
