a 16 year old chinesse lady breaks swimming record by about 7 seconds! whats is shocking is that in her discipline, she actually swam the last 50 metres faster than the american man who won gold in the same event.

After failing to win as many medals as they had hoped for so far, the Brits are already asking whether the investment into the games was worthy it.

south africans over the moon as a swimmer wins gold in world record time their first in 8 years a good start for them considering they won only a silver in beijing

SA won only one medal in Beijing, a silver in 2008???

sounds unbelievable africa biggest economy could only manage a silver from long jump in beijing.

getting any medal in the Olympics is no mean feat infact many drug cheats are usually discovered after the Olympics.we should be grateful if kenya gets even 6medals of any type bronze ,silver or gold many countries are yearning just to be on the podium

A medal in the Olympics is no joke. Bangladesh, one of the world most populous country, is still trying to win its first Olympic medal, ever.

Don't pin your hopes on David. I happened to watch the 8 heats and they are arranged in order of slowest to fastest. David was not even on the list of those who met the qualifying Olympic time. The guys who met the qualifying time were from heat 5-8.

Nonetheless he did Kenya proud. Go team Kenya!
