We Kenyans have portrayed an amazing quality in the past few weeks thanks to MM. Ukabila and all differences were put aside to denounce this LOUD fella. But in all truth it has shown how immature we still are. We have an unnerving support for our ‘leaders’ no matter what is brought against them, we worship them.
MM spoke negatively of RAO and most couldn’t stand it, our traditions told us YOU DON’T DO THAT TO A LEADER!!! If that is the mentality, we better forget maendeleo. We did not even give the man a chance to be investigated. SMH. By the way am not supporting MM in any way just that the response was unexpected of the 'post - new constitution' Kenya.
I might say MM is rather theatric in expressing himself, but this is a trait common with many reformists, it captures the crowd which he did in a big way, unfortunately it was against him.
To quote Mutuma Mathiu; “The freedom of expression means the freedom to express an odious, bad, uninformed, stupid opinion.” …..but we Kenyans rather stick to our traditions.
